Wedding Fun

Our friends Justin & Mary were married on Saturday and Samuel was the ringbearer. Here's a pic of our friends:

Our friends were married in the Alice Millar Chapel on the campus of Northwestern. This is an AMAZING place for a wedding ceremony. I stole this picture off of the internet so you could see (I have no idea who the blessed couple is!). I didn't take any pictures b/c I was official child wrangler for the day. But I will post pics from the wedding photographer as soon as they are available.

We weren't sure if Samuel would actually walk down the aisle. Samuel walked with his best friend, Abbie, who is 3 years old. At the rehearsal on Friday, we practiced walking down the aisle. Abbie tossed some leaves for practice and all Samuel wanted to do was follow behind and pick them up! I told the kids that if they walked all the way to the end of the aisle I would take them in the back to the "candy room." I held out a bag of candy as they walked down the aisle. For the wedding, Abbie performed beautifully. She walked very lady-like and tossed her rose petals. Samuel started out on pace with Abbie. But as soon as he saw me (or, to be honest, as soon as he saw the bag of candy) he broke out into a run down the aisle. It was very precious. Here's the happy (little) couple:

And to think that I had no confidence that he would actually do this. This kid will probably surprise me all his life. Isn't he absolutely handsome in his little tuxedo? Good job, Samuel!

P.S. The wedding chapel is GORGEOUS!!

That has GOT to be one of the most beautiful chapels I've ever seen.

I cracked up with joy upon seeing Samuel in that little tux. Can he get more adorable? I don't think so. Also, that little smile is a heartbreaker.

That is soooo cute. You go Samuel!
We had 3 yo (almost 4) as flower girl and ringbearer at our wedding. Our pastor was not very sure it would work out, but it worked just fine. Our ringbearer wanted to do it again (I don't know if he was bribed or not. Maybe he wanted some more candy)
