Coming Soon

Our friends Charlie and April recently brought home their new son from Korea. This sweet little guy will be joining our ranks in late January/early February. We'll keep him 3 days a week. He is SOO cute! Little G is 9 months old right now. It will be so fun to have three boys in the house.

AND, we will (hopefully) be buying a minivan to haul the three lovelies around. Whoopee! (that's a ho-hum whoopee).

Fall has Fell

We have nary a tree in our yard, and yet our it is covered in leaves! Or, I suppose I should say was covered because Ed and Corliss raked today. The boys thought this was HIGH fun. Here they are romping around in the pile.

Who's in Charge around here?

I was in the bathroom the other night, diligently trying to change me ileostomy bag. This is the conversation I hear out in the kitchen:
Samuel: Daddy, I want a bath.
Ed: Not right now.
Samuel: Can I have a Daddy bath?
Ed: Sure. Come here.
(I hear running water from the kitchen tap).
Samuel: Do my feet, too.
Ed: Okay. Don't tell mom.
Samuel: I want a bath.
Ed: Okay, just a minute.
(I hear more running water. Then it turns off and I hear lots of giggling).
Time to investigate...

Oh, brother, who's in charge around here?

My Sweet Family

Here we are in all our glory:
Me sporting a hat, which Ed hates b/c he thinks I look like a total dork. Maybe so, but it is FREEZING here!

Sweetie #1 (throwing dirt on the side of the garage!):

Sweetie #2:

Playing in the dirt, their favorite pasttime:

Laughing together at their silliness in the basement:

Praise God for my sweet family!

Little Builders

We are members of Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview. They have a new exhibit called Little Builders that Samuel is now OBSESSED with. He begs me all the time to go. Here he is enjoying himself with Daddy and Joel.

On an unrelated note, I got yelled at today by my aunt for being absolutely quiet on how I've been since I got home. Well, maybe not yelled at, but gently encouraged to get on the ball! :) I am feeling good. I am eating everything I want. The only thing is that I'm pretty tired most of the time. But I'm hoping that gets better over the next week or two. My mom and dad leave for Florida in the morning and then Ed's mom arrives in the afternoon to stay with us for a week. Then we're on our own again!

Guess Where I Am?!?

Hello from my home everyone!! They set me free this evening. I made it home in time to see Samuel before he went to bed, but not Joel. I will surprise him in the morning. I can't wait to see his face!

I am still restricted to a liquid diet for 2 days. And I still have my PICC line in, just in case things don't go well at home. BUT, I am feeling good and I think things will progress smoothly over the next few days. Ed is a little overwhelmed with the PICC line - I have to flush it twice a day with a saline syringe and he is not too keen on it.

The last time I left the hospital, we stopped at Arby's for a chicken sandwich. That was not to be the case this time, but I did stop at Burger King for a vanilla shake. Mmm.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has prayed for me over the past couple of weeks. I love you all!!
