Family Update

Hi all. Samuel had his 18 month checkup on Saturday and I had my OB appt. today, so I thought I would update you on all of our vitals.

Samuel: He is weighing in at 21 pounds, 2 ounces and he is 30 inches long. Both of these are under the 5th percentile. BUT, he is staying more or less on his growth curve and he's developing on schedule, so no worries. The doctor thought everything seemed really great with him. BTW, we really love our new pediatrician. She is very thorough and personable and quite flexible on different issues.

Leah: I am weighing in now at 147 pounds, about where I was at this point with Samuel. I am sleeping when I can, but I don't feel very rested - I am DYING to sleep on my tummy again. We have put a loveseat in our room and most nights I make my way over to it for the extra support.

Ed: I don't know how much he weighs, but I would guess around 175/180. He is enjoying his new job, especially the fact that it is so close to home and he can come home for dinner every night.

Baby #2: We had an ultrasound today and the baby is growing right on schedule. The weight estimate is 6 pounds, 2 ounces. And s/he is still head down. The worrisome news we received today is that the amniotic fluid is on the low end. I think the number is supposed to be around 11 or 12 (I have no idea what unit that is). The u/s tech only found around 6 1/2 whatevers today. I have to go to the hospital on Friday for another check. Hopefully with some extra water drinking and rest I can get the number back up. If not, I'll have to have ultrasounds twice a week for the remainder of the time. The doctor didn't seem too worried about things - the baby is a nice size and I am 36 weeks along. We'll have more info after my appt. Friday morning.

I haven't taken many pics this week, but I will share one with you. I don't know where it came from, but Samuel has developed a "butt obsession". He is constantly grabbing his tush to show me and follows me around pointing to my bottom. Weird! Here he is showing off his cute little posterior:

Sounds like you've got a little sir mix-a-lot on your hands.

Hey girl! I really don't want to seem nosy, but is there a reason they are giving you so many ultrasounds? Are you considered high risk? I am praying for you, and hope all continues to go well with your little one!
