Sammy Says...

Samuel hit his friend in the head with a block and I take him upstairs to get a spanking...

Me: We're going to go upstairs now and you're going to get a spanking for hitting your friend.
Samuel: Is it going to hurt, Mom?
Me: Yes.

We get to his bedroom and I have a talk with him and then...

Me: Okay, now it's time for your spanking.
Samuel: Is it going to hurt?
Me: Yes.
Samuel: Let's see.

(FYI: It hurt.)

Warning, this next one involves talk of private parts b/c that seems to be a regular topic of conversation in our house.

Samuel has been overly interested in his private parts lately and so I initiate a conversation with Ed...

Me: Dad, Samuel would like you to have a talk with him about when and where he can touch himself.
Ed: Samuel, do you know when you can touch yourself?
Samuel: A lot?

Does anyone else deal with this problem? I feel so weird having to make rules about these things.
