Fly on the Wall Friday

A recent scene at the pool...

Joel and Samuel had eaten a Dilly Bar and Joel had chocolate all over him. Ed and I were talking to some friends and a woman came up to us and said "Excuse me, but your son is licking his feet." We turned around to see Joel sitting on the ground with a chocolatey foot up to his face, toes in his mouth. Ed just replied, "oh, that's okay. We draw the line at licking shoes."

Samuel: Mom, just let me do whatever I want to do.

Joel has been a broken record lately. Every day he does the same routine:

Joel: Mom, Keyna in Canada? Nick in Canada? Micah in Canada? Sophia in Canada?
Me: Yes, Joel. Yes, Joel. Yes, Joel. Yes, Joel.

Our friends who serve here in Chicago (Northwestern University) with Campus Crusade for Christ are on their summer project in North Bay, Canada. We are headed up to visit them for the week. We are getting the boys up at 4am on Friday to get in the van and drive to Toronto. We'll spend the night there and then go the rest of the way to our friends on Saturday. We're really excited for the visit and to see our friends.

But it is kinda weird that we're heading out of the country for the 4th of July! :)
