Update on Us

Ed: He survived a round of layoffs at work. You should have seen what a good worker he was that week! Ed has been busy helping out a TON with the kids, working out at our new gym, and prepping for a seminar he's going to teach at church tomorrow on Prayer. He has also been handling a bunch of hassle for getting our roof and siding repaired on the house and garage after some hail damage a few weeks ago. Big kuddos to him for hanging in there through all the red tape.

Leah: Not the most flattering picture, but when you have a 2 year old as your photographer, you take what you can get. It probably has less to do with the fact Joel took the picture and more to do with the fact that he took it at 7am! I have experienced a bit of a setback this week in my recovery. I have had quite the sore bottom this week and haven't been up for doing much. The doctor said it will just take time and to hang in there. He gave me some medicine to try (a powder that you mix in water but it doesn't dissolve). It is DISGUSTING! I have only been able to gag it down two days this week so I don't have a good idea of whether or not it will help me. Ugh, I shudder just thinking about the nastiness!

Samuel: Oh what a joy Samuel has been lately! I have been reminding the boys a million times a day that I expect them to obey the first time. I wish I had a quarter for every time I've asked "When do we obey?". But I'm sure the boys wish they could have a quarter too for every time they've had to respond "The first time". Samuel is VERY proud of himself when he obeys the first time and wants to make sure that I notice each and every time. He is also getting very good at pointing out every time that Joel disobeys. Ugh! Samuel is very much the typical first child and wants to make sure that everyone is towing the line. (A boy after my own heart, really. ha, ha).

Joel: Oh, and then there's Joel. If you make a kissing noise he will run up and plant a big one on you. His new thing is "I do it myself". And he means EVERYTHING - buckling his carseat clip, feeding himself, walking up and down stairs, putting on his shoes/boots. Luckily his independence is slowly wearing off on Samuel, who would just as soon have me do everything for him for the rest of his life! Joel continues to share all of his toys with Samuel and Baby G. He is a super joy around the house.
