Sneaking in a post

What's the only good thing about being awake at 4:30am in a hospital? You can find a night nurse who takes pity on you and let's you use her computer to get on the web! The lovely nurse wheeled her cart in here and set me all up. The other nurses keep walking by and looking in my room with a "what in the world is she doing?" look. But I think my nurse realized it's just not normal to have no internet access for 5 days!

I wanted to let everyone know that I'm probably not progessing as quickly/well as the doctor would like and we will be having the "surgery" talk today. Please pray for me as I surrender my will to God's will and allow Him to make the decisions. He has blessed me with an excellent doctor and I trust him to help me make the right decisions. I will know better after our conversation today whether I will be transfering to Northwestern Memorial Hospital down in the city to see a surgeon.

Please pray too for my family. Ed and my mom have been doing such a great job keeping things running at home. And Ed's parents are due to arrive this weekend as my mom heads back to Florida. Can I just say a big Thank You Jesus for two sets of retired grandparents who are able to come up at a moment's notice?!

If you are around the area, I may be reaching out to you to help pinch hit for them over the next few weeks. Meals and/or childcare would be a big help.

I'll try to update again after I talk with the doctors. I guess the other thing to pray for is that I could put on some weight over the next few days. I'm down to 100 pounds. They want you to be in a good place nutritionally before the surgery, so I need to get that weight up a bit. They've got me packing away Ensure shakes with each meal. Mmm (not really!).

We prayed for you at our Ladies meeting on Monday night and just keep hoping things really take a big change. BTW, I'd more than gladly give you about 20 to 30 lbs, putting-on seems to never be my problem! Love you....Aunt Karen

oh Leah! I' praying for you all throughout the day - that your doctor would have incredible wisdom and you and Ed would have a complete peace with what you're supposed to do; for healing for your body; and praise for the wonderful help your parents are able to be. I wish I could be there to help out and especially take your kiddos - Lydia would love playing with them. Love you!
