If You're a Health Nut, Don't Read This Post

Now, just to clarify, I don't let Samuel eat junkfood all the time. We really do give him healthy things to eat. But a little treat every now and again is okay, right? Well, the above is Samuel participating in a time honored tradition - licking the beater. This was an absolute favorite of mine as a child. My mom would give my brother and I each a beater to lick after she mixed up a cake. Sometimes we would even get to lick the spatula and the bowl. Lucky for her there were two kids and two beaters. And now that the Kitchenaid stand mixers only have one beater, I guess lucky for me I only have one child. I don't know what I'll do when we have two. (Oh, for those worry warts out there, I had just mixed up frosting - nothing with raw egg in it). We made Eclair Cake for Ed's birthday.

I knew I was going to post the above today. But then I thought I'd look through the pics I took this week to see if there was anything else to post today. I saw the following picture and had to laugh because here was Samuel eating junk food again! I was just starting to feel good about myself for not letting him eat too many treats! :) We got pizza for dinner Saturday night from this little Italian restaurant in Tiburon. It is the best! We tore up some pizza for Samuel and put it on his tray. But he just whined and pointed at the big pieces we were eating. We thought we'd let him have one and see what he would do with it. Well, let's just say, he figured it out!

Oh, do you get a lot of opportunities speaking Spanish out there?

Well, I read your post anyway! The picture of him eating pizza is soooo funny! He's too cute! Do you cut his hair or is it just that short? I think he looks like such a little man!

Hollie,
Shark City...I didn't get it at first! Ha, ha. I have had a few opportunities to speak in Spanish. There are actual a lot of Asian people here in the area. But I've run into some Spanish speakers as well. The thing that gets me though is that there are so many places with Spanish names, but people don't pronounce them in the Spanish way. It's weird to be corrected for pronouncing something wrong!

Margaret,
That is his natural hairdo. It's just grown in that way - I don't know when we'll ever have to give him a haircut.
