After One Year

At Birth, Samuel:
-weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces
-was 18 inches long
-was a little early b/c the drs thought he was too small
-surprised us so much b/c we were convinced we were having a girl
-was very handsome, even for a newborn

After One Year, Samuel:
-weighs 18 pounds, 9 ounces
-is 27 and a 1/4 inches tall
-is only coming in at the 1% and 3% for height and weight
-doesn't look that small at all!!
-can clap, kiss, give five & play peekaboo
-loves cars, trains & tractors
-is still dashingly handsome
-is waiting to be a big brother

What a wonderful year!! I just LOVE this sweet boy. It's really hard to remember how tiny he was.

Hey Leah, I'm glad to read his stats. Meredith is the same, except she's a few inches taller. You probably already know this, but those charts at the doctor's office are made by formula companys and formula fed babies are typically bigger. So, if Samuel is/was breastfed, he'll naturally be below their averages even though he's perfectly healthy. I think he looks great!

Leah,
Samuel looks wonderful and healthy, like he always has. I hope you're adjusting well out there. Do you like your new Pediatrian? How does he/she compare to ours that we have in WF? You and I see the same WF doc.
Laney has her 9 mo check-up Sept 20 and I am expecting them to tell me that she's gained a ton of weight, b/c she has!!! I can tell just by holding her and of course, by looking at her rolls. Ha! She's about 17.5 I bet. Probably still under the norm though. I liked reading what Margaret said. :)
