Fly on the Wall Friday

If you were a fly on the wall at our house (or in our car) over the past few weeks, you may have heard the following:

Sammy: Mommy, will you drive slow?
Me: Sorry, Sam, I can't. We're on the highway and you have to go fast on the highway.
Sammy: Will you slow down when we get to the downway?
---------------------------------

I've been working with Samuel to reply "Yes, Mommy" when I tell him something insteado of his usual "Why?"
Me: Blah, blah, blah (I don't remember what I told him to do!)
Sammy: Why?
Me: Samuel, you need to say "Yes, Mommy" not "Why".
Sammy: No, Mom, I was talking about the letter Y.
---------------------------------

Joel is yelling for me from his crib in the morning:
Joel: Mom, Moooooom, LEEEEEEEAH
---------------------------------

The boys and I are walking through the Milwaukee Public Museum:
Sammy: Oh, stop Mom, something just caught my eye. Did that catch your eye, too, Mom?
---------------------------------

I was listing off the moms that would be coming over last Friday night for my birthday party.
Me: Keyna, Jenny, Angie, Pam...
Samuel: Angie!! Mom, that's one of my GIRLfriends.
[Angie is one of my cousins. Kari is my other cousin. They are not even sisters, but Samuel calls them "The Twins"]
Me: Yes, Samuel, Angie is one of your girlfriends, but this is a different Angie.
I start to think in my head how cute that is and how I will have to tell my cousin that Samuel was talking about her. Then he adds...
Samuel: Mom, I like the Kari Twin the best.
---------------------------------

I Samuel and Joel's Sunday School teacher this month. Our lesson was about Esau and Jacob.
Me: Esau and Jacob were twins. Do any of you know twins?
Samuel: Oh, I do! Angie and Kari are twins!
---------------------------------

Samuel was totally screwing around after I put him to bed Wednesday night. I went in the room and yelled at him pretty good to stay in bed. I felt kinda bad and so I leaned down to kiss him.
Me: I love you.
Samuel: Do you still love me, Mommy?
Break. My. Heart.

I can't believe he still thinks of us as the twins! Although his definition of twins is a little skewed, he sure has a good memory. Sammy, you are too cute!

Oh Samuel, you are too cute...at least until I found out that Kari is your FAVORITE twin.

I literally laughed out loud when I read your post. You guys are so much fun.

Miss you tons!

Sounds like we need to get our kids together so they can play with a real set of twins :).
