After about 48 hours start to finish in the hospital, we are now settling in at home. Joel is starting to wake up a bit and is doing great with nursing. I am feeling really good - even better than after having Samuel. God is so good to me to give me pretty easy births and recoveries. I am very thankful for that. My mom and dad are here through the weekend to help us out, and then my brother will be here for a few days to help me transition to having two kids at home. The great thing about Ed's job is that he is home every day until 3pm, so I only have about 3 1/2 hours on my own with two kids. And this was a great week to have a baby - Ed doesn't have to work on Friday AND there is non-stop basketball on TV with the NCAA tournament. Ed and I have made our brackets and are ready for some friendly competition.
Ed and I were alone with Joel in the hospital last night and caught him in a good awake period. We tried to snap as many photos as we could. Here are a few for you to see. We think he's a pretty big cutie!!

Besides feeling like you need 8 hands...having two isn't so bad! I am always blessed by how sweet James is with Samantha, and by how she looks at him with such awe. I know one day we'll have sibling arguments ( I think especially when she starts crawling toward his toys...yikes!), but for right now they're very sweet to watch. Congrats again on your newest little blessing...I'll look forward to your stories on brotherly love!

I love the second-to-last picture of Joel propped on the pillow looking like a little burrito. So sweet!!
I'm finally getting a minute to post a quick congrats!! You're right, I think he looks just like Samuel! Hope your dad isn't too disappointed with another boy! There's always next time :)
So did you think this time around went much smoother? Did you get an epidural again? Glad you're feeling so well! Talk to you later!

Congratulations!
We just welcomed our second boy 3 weeks ago. We have another son, 20 months old, Samuel. Looks like we have lots in common :)
God bless you as you transition from one to two. It's much easier than they all say it will be!
