First Days

Today was my first day on my own with both boys. Well, to be completely honest, today was my first 3 1/2 hours with both boys. :) My parents went home yesterday, and then Ed went to work today. He goes in at 3pm and Samuel goes to bed at 6:30pm, so I just had those 3 1/2 hours to keep both boys. It was actually really easy - Joel ate at 3:30 and then slept the rest of the time! And someone from our church family brought dinner over, so I didn't have to cook. I guess I am more easing my way into reality - but today was reassuring.

Here are a few random pics from the past few days. We are really enjoying Joel - he is a total sweetheart.

Oh..how precious! I love how optimistic you are Leah. When I was in your shoes when I had Laney, I was an emotional basketcase, esp when my parents left and Hugh went back to work all in the same day. Granted, I did have a c-section, was on drugs and was still moving slowly and in a great deal of pain and was having the worst nursing problems EVER....AND she was my first so I didn't have much confidence at that point. So, would you say that having the first is harder than having the second, focusing on the emotional aspect of it all. I hope and pray that whenever we get pregnant again that I could try for a VBAC. I don't want another c-section again!

We got that exact same flower arrangement from the folks at work when David was born. Ana still plays with the wagon even though there's a sticker on it that says it should not be given to children as a toy. Probably because of the lead paint.
