Samuel Ryne Payne is the name of our baby boy, and we've had many people wondering what is up with his middle name. Ed comes from a family of devout CUB fans, so that is where we found the inspiration for Samuel's middle name.

Ryne Sandberg is a hall of fame 2nd baseman. He played his whole career with the Cubs in the 80s and 90s. He is one of the top three 2nd baseman of all time. And he's acknowledged as the greatest defensive 2nd baseman. He has long been one of Ed's favorite players.
As for future children, we are still toying with the idea of continuing the Cubs middle name thing, although I'm not sure how great Jerome (Walton) would be for the next kid. Maybe Dawson (from Andre Dawson). We'll see...
